Important Dates

Eligibility Criteria

• Constable (UB): HS / Class XII passed from a recognized Board or Council.
• Constable (AB): HSLC / Class X passed from a recognized Board or Council.
• Candidates with Higher Secondary or above may apply for either UB or AB (with correct preference marked).
• Must be Indian citizen and permanent resident of Assam.
• Must be registered with a local Employment Exchange in Assam.
• Must speak Assamese or any other recognized state language fluently.
• Proof of residence required (for SC/ST/OBC, as per norms) after final selection.
• Those applying under special quotas (Home Guards, SPO, ex-militant, etc.) must provide appropriate certificates as per recruitment notice.

Age Limit (as on 01-01-2026)

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 25 years
• Relaxation:
  • SC / ST(P) / ST(H): +5 years
  • OBC / MOBC: +3 years
  • Home Guards / VDP / Civil Defence Volunteers (≥ 3 years’ service): +3 years
  • Former Members of Militant Organisations (FMMOs) / Special Police Officers (SPOs): +10 years

Salary / Pay Scale & Benefits

• Pay Scale: ₹ 14,000 – ₹ 70,000 per month
• Grade Pay: ₹ 5,600/-
• Other allowances and benefits as admissible under rules.
• Pension benefits as per existing Assam Police pension scheme (after appointment).

Reservation / Category-wise Vacancies (Highlights)

Vacancies are reserved under various categories: OBC/MOBC, SC, ST(P), ST(H), Tea & Ex-Tea Garden Tribes (within OBC/MOBC quota), Women quota (within each category), quotas for Home Guards/VDP/Civil Defence Volunteers, SPOs, ex-militants (FMMOs), sports quota/NCC, militancy-affected areas, etc. Detailed category-wise break-up will be available in the official notification.

Selection Process

1. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – 40 marks (UB male & female, AB female), 60 marks (AB male)
2. Medical Examination – Assessment by Medical & Health Officer
3. Physical Standard Test (PST) – Height and chest measurement (qualifying)
4. Written Test – 50 marks (100 MCQ questions, 0.5 mark each, no negative marking)
5. Oral / Viva-Voce – 5 marks
6. Academic Weightage – 5 marks for Constable (UB) based on HS percentage
7. Biometric Verification – At entry, exit, and during all recruitment stages
8. Shortlisting Criteria: 5× number of posts for Written Test (based on PET merit), then 2× vacancies for Viva-Voce (based on combined PET + Written merit).

Physical & Medical Standards

• Height: Male – 162.5 cm (General/OBC/SC/ST(P)), Female – 154 cm; ST(H): Male 160 cm, Female 152 cm
• Chest (Males only): Normal: 80 cm; Expansion: +5 cm (ST(H): 78 cm normal + 5 cm expansion)
• Vision requirements: Distance vision 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in other (without correction); Near vision should be normal.
• Candidates must be free from physical deformities and serious health issues — no colour-blindness, significant deformities (knock-knee, flat foot, varicose vein, hernia, etc.).

3. Login using Application ID or mobile number + date of birth.
4. Select the relevant advertisement: SLPRB/REC/CONST (AB & UB)/727/2025/94
5. Provide correct personal and academic details including Employment Exchange number, caste/category, district, etc.
6. Upload required documents:
   • Passport-size photograph (max 450 KB)
   • Signature (max 100 KB, black/blue ink)
   • Age proof, HSLC/HS mark sheets & certificates, Employment Exchange card, Caste certificate if applicable
   • Reserve-quota certificates (Home Guard/VDP, SPO, FMMO, sports/NCC) if claiming quota benefits
7. Select post preference (UB or AB) if eligible for both.
8. Generate OTP, submit form, and download / print Acknowledgement Slip.
9. You may correct details (once) within 5 days after last date (subject to SLPRB’s discretion).
10. Keep Acknowledgement Slip and Application ID safe for future reference.
